About Woodcraft Cabinets
Woodcraft Cabinets was established in 1977 by George & Barb Hornek.
George emigrated from Hungary as a 17 year old refugee, after World War II. He worked his way through the ranks at Burgess Furniture and became Foreman. He held this position for many years and during this time, married Barb and had two sons.
Woodcraft Cabinets began in Bayswater and remained there until the year 2000. During this time both his sons learnt the trade and all other apprentices went on to own their own business.
George and Barb retired in 2000 and Woodcraft Cabinets Pty/Ltd closed temporarily, as their sons were not ready to take over the family business. After 3-4 years of their son Steve being a foreman for a large company, Woodcraft Cabinets was re-established in Dandenong and has never looked back.
With Georges’ input we have over 50 years’ experience in the Cabinet Making industry and have thousands of happy, satisfied customers.
It is our practice to provide a friendly, in-house service and we always strive to deliver excellence in design and manufacturing.
